BAMS Admission Eligibility Criteria 2026
To secure admission in a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS) course, candidates must qualify the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG). The detailed criteria are as follows:
Age & Citizenship
- Minimum Age: 17 Years completed by 31st Dec 2026.
- Upper Age Limit: None (As per current NCISM/NEET rules).
- Nationality: Indian Nationals, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs are eligible.
Academic Qualification
- 10+2 Exam: Passed with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English.
- Minimum Marks (PCB):
- General/EWS: 50%
- OBC/SC/ST: 40%
- PwD: 45%
NEET UG 2026 Syllabus for BAMS
The syllabus for BAMS admission is identical to MBBS, based on the rationalized NCERT curriculum of Class 11 and 12.

- Genetics & Evolution: Principles of Inheritance, Molecular Basis, Evolution.

For: BAMS/BDS 1st Year Students.
Benefit: Tuition fee waiver for students studying in participating government-approved colleges.
2. Central Sector Scheme (CSSS)
By: Govt of India (NSP).
Benefit: ₹10k - ₹20k per annum for students scoring above 80th percentile in Class 12 Boards.
